Adirondack Style Lake House
The entry, looking through to the study, is home to an antique cupboard and handmade table and stool. Rubbed bronze door
hardware blends reclaimed pine flooring with newer elements. The layered sheer curtains on the study’s French doors
provide privacy for anyone using the queen sleeper sofa as an extra bedroom. A leather sofa, neutral upholstery and
rug allow the handmade desk and chair to be the room’s focal point.
There's plenty of room for cooks and helpers in the spacious kitchen with natural beam support, distressed pine cabinets,
slate backsplash and honed granite countertops grounding stainless steel appliances. The peninsula with birch branch stools
allow guests to easily converse with the cooks, as well as providing extra seating if the handmade dining table with birch
legs and Spartan metal chairs are taken. An area rug anchors the dining area in the open expanse.
The window wall of the warm and homey family room frames miles of inviting lake and shoreline. Reminiscent of great hunting
lodges, the space is centered by a goliath stone fireplace and hearth around which family and friends can comfortably gather.
The subtle sectional in suede-cloth allows accents, such as the antler chandelier and fireplace tools, copper top cocktail
table and étagère with birdhouse collection, to add character and interest to the room. The log chair and bureau with
hand-painted lampshade and lamp blend right in with the cedar stair railing. The mirror with twig detailed frame reflects the space.
